I have a few UPDATES #2:
1. Giant Eagle got pomegranates in stock!!! They are priced at $3 each. I was very happy to see this because I was able to use my $3 Catalina Coupon from the chex mix deal from last week to buy my pomegranates for FREE! (also the pomegranates at Giant Eagle looked much fresher and cleaner than the ones at Heinen's)
2. My husband was at Marc's today and he asked the produce manager if they will be getting pomegranates in this week and he said that they should be coming in tomorrow (Friday), and they might be priced at 2 for $4.00 (making it $2 each). which would be that best price in town if that is the truth!
3. There have been reports that people have spotted pomegranates being sold at Issi's for $3 a piece. So when you are grabbing a bite don't forget your pomegranates (only in Cleveland). Thanks Daphne S. for the update.
Update #1: For all of our New Yorkers, Rivka L. just posted on our facebook group "The kolel store in Williamsburg has them for .99 cents each". Thanks Rivka for the update and lucky you guys who live in New York!
As Rosh Hashana (the start of the Jewish NewYear) is approaching - I started looking out for the best price on Pomegranates! Of course I have not found such great deals but I wanted to inform you guys of the research that I did....
So
But Heinen's did and they are 2 for $6.00 ($3 each) I found that to be ridiculous especially knowing myself as someone who only buys the produce that is on sale, so I continued my search...
Miles Farmers Market got pomegranates in as well and they are the same price as Heinen's: 2 for $6.00 so no need to shlep out there...
Zagara's Marketplace got them in yesterday, but they are priced at $2.99, so no need to run out there to save a penny (and waste a dollar on gas... lol).
Oh, one more Dave's Markets also just got them in today and they are priced as well for $2.99.
I almost forgot about Whole Foods Market they also have them for $2.99 each.
My very last phone call was to Unger's, and guess what? They have the pomegranates we have been looking for at the best price in town!!! 2 for $5 making it $2.50 each!!! It is not much of a savings over Heinen's but if you are out there, it is like saving $1 on two!
I did the best research I could, looking for the best price. If I missed any produce stores in town and you found a better price, please let us know that we can all get our pomegranates for a little less. Enjoy your shopping for the Holiday!
Have a happy, healthy, and successful sweet new year! :)
